Phormer Phish Phrontman Phoiled
Who knew? Trey Anastasio, the tie-dyed t-shirt wearing former frontman of the psychedelic jam band Phish, likes to catch a buzz now and again. According to the Times Union of Albany, New York, Trey was stopped by police this morning allegedly in possession of an assortment of prescription medications including hydrocodone, Percocet and Xanax, which were prescribed for another person. Naughty, naughty Trey. According to police, Anastasio was pulled over for failing to keep right. Failing to keep right? Trey, your street cred just went through the roof! Step aside Snoop Dogg. There's a new badass in town.

Hey Corny - ya jagoff - if you read any of the media coverage, you'd see that Trey basically told the cops that he's got a drug problem and that he needs help. Since it seems to me that Trey should be considered a friend of WFUV, how about pulling down the mugshot and the lame commentary?
No need for name calling, Anonymous.
You’re right, anonymous (#1), my commentary was lame; and for that I apologize.
Yeah, I totally agree. Fercrissakes, that stuff'll kill him and I think it's terribly sad that a guy with so much going for him has unfortunately gotten caught up in an addiction that, apparently, is very hard to break.
If it was something innocuous like weed, I'd say, leave this up. It's almost funny. But these are narcotics and there's nothing funny or cute about it.
You should take it down. Now.
pill addicts are no fun, I see plenty of the more dysfunctional ones all the time. Trey has given us a lot of good memories, but it's hard for me to look past the fact that he made 2 very bad decisions prior to getting busted. If you have enough sense to admit your addiction and seek help, at least take your pills and go for a walk or take a nap. don't get behind the wheel.
Will Munny:
Who's the fellow owns this shithole?
[pause]
Will Munny: You, fat man. Speak up.
Skinny Dubois: Uh, I... I own this establishment. I bought the place from Greeley for a thousand dollars.
[Will levels the shotgun, and speaks to someone standing behind Skinny]
Will Munny: You better clear outta there.
Man: Yes, sir.
[scampers out of the way]
Little Bill Daggett: Just hold it right there. Hold it...!
[Will shoots Skinny. Screaming, the women scatter upstairs]
Little Bill Daggett: Well, sir, you are a cowardly son of a bitch! You just shot an unarmed man!
Will Munny: Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend.
By the way, the quote is meant as a joke/commentary on the various reader shouts about the fact that Trey's mugshot shouldn't be "decorating" the front of the WFUV blog....it reminded me of the classic "Unforgiven" scene.
I'm an 'FUV member and fervent FUV fan and also a personal friend of Trey's - didn't really know him as a musician until my family met his family. He is a decent, kind person who is going through a hard time, and to the best of my knowledge is not being secretive about his problems. Finger pointing and bad jokes just make it harder on his family, who have to live here. Please lay off and wish him the best.
