Rita Houston here, FUV music director

It's all about the music...hey look at me, busting a well worn cliche right at the start here. Well truth is, I carry around alot of music in my head everyday...maybe a blog is what i need to free my mind and live a fuller, more well rounded life. Now, there's an incentive...

OK, music in my head right now...George Jones cuz i'm going to see him tmrw nite at Carnegie Hall with Kristofferson. And Dylan of course as his new album continues to engage me and he's coming to town in a couple of weeks. On the new tip, check out Christina Courtin--let me know what u think. I'll figure out how to post a video and make it easy for you eventually. On the FUV tip i've been working hard booking our annual benefit concert. Confirmed so far, JO and RJ.....

My Mom was a huge George Jones fan and suffered a few times in the 1980s when she and my Aunts and Uncles would show up at the now defunct Lone Star Roadhouse in NYC and "no show George" would do just that. Sounds like he did them a favor based on Rita's tepid response to his in person "no show". I really like his "Some Days I Barely Get By"...sounds like those words hold true for his live sets.
